Ground Fighting

East Valley Martial Arts Kenshin Kan is deeply rooted in Traditional Okinawan Karate, specializing in character development through the life protection arts.

While our training focuses on standing techniques and skills designed to prevent us from going to the ground, sometimes we do end up there. With the popularity of MMA and wrestling increasing, even an un-trained fighter knows, or thinks they know, basic techniques such as shooting the legs, arm bars, sweeps. Traditional Karate teaches skills to defend against this, though our ground fighting class helps teach what to do once on the ground. Many of our standing techniques and principals are just as effective on the ground with only minor body position changes.

Classes are 1 hour long and for adults and teens. There is no extra charge however you do need instructor approval. Classes are taught by certified black belt instructors.
