East Valley Martial Arts karate students study the "fist-way" of the Okinawan people. Karate originated on the island of Okinawa (now part of Japan) when it was an independent country. This small territory of farmers and fishermen developed Karate (with influences from China) to protect their families, themselves, and their belongings. The techniques have been passed down from teacher to student for hundreds of years. They were gifted to us, and now we offer you the opportunity to become part of the tradition.

You are invited to a special Sword Fighting Seminar here at East Valley Martial Arts,
open to guys and gals, adults and kids 8 years-old and up.
No experience necessary.
DATE: Sat. July 17
TIME: 2 - 4 pm
COST: $39.00 per person
INCLUDES: Two hours of training on sword techniques with Kirk Gauger Shihan, 4th Dan; learning about the samurai sword by "cutting through the mystery;" a wooden practice sword with scabbard to take home; and the chance to use a real samurai cutting sword to practice cuts on objects (under close supervision).
