Workshops
Tuite
Kaicho’s specialty! Pronounced “two-ee-te,” these techniques are arm bars and wrist locks which can be used either to control without harm or to disable an attacker. Tuite workshops are offered with instructor approval.
Padded Weapons Sparring
This is your chance to use a bo in a simulated free-combat situation. Opponents wear full-face-cage helmets and spar with fully padded bos using real techniques in a safe environment.
Ground Fighting
We specialize in standing techniques that can be used on the ground but this class will teach how to do this as well as use locks unique to ground situations, and how to roll and fall safely. All ranks are welcome.
Personal Safety / Redman Seminar
This class teaches street smarts and personal safety for youth and adults, incorporating the application of fullspeed, full-power defense techniques against an adult attacker wearing the Redman suit.
- Kata Workshops
Weapons Kata
Many traditional Okinawan weaponry katas will be offered. Write your preferred weapon on the registration form (and be sure to have that weapon before the camp) and every attempt will be made to have a kata for that weapon taught in the workshops.
Empty Hand
Kata Students will go over several Ryukyu Kampo katas.
-Beginner Ranks: (Naihanchi 1, 2 & 3 & Tomari Seisan)
-Intermediate Ranks: (5 Pinans)
-Advanced Ranks: (Passai, Niseishi, Kusanku, Okan [Shorin Ryu], & Chinto [Shorin Ryu])
